Lauren and Richard

Who would have guessed that a fateful night in January 2014 would change our lives forever. Some would say that it was a night novels are written about - a glance from across the room from the corner table. It took Richard a while to slowly stroll up to the girl on the other side of the room. Okay, if we are being completely honest, it was a bar. We never left each other's side for the rest of the night, and away we went. Story be told, there had been weeks of pressure to meet one another. We both had heard rave reviews to "meet this great guy" or to meet "this great girl." We both had avoided this meeting for countless reasons and then there was a birthday party. Well, I guess our excuses were really out the window from the minute we met.

After three years together, Richard proposed to me on the mountain top above his childhood home, overlooking Downtown Los Angeles. We knew we wanted to have a Winter wedding in December. Let the wedding planning begin!

The day I found my Lazaro gown was the first time I had been dress shopping, and in all honesty, I had no intention of buying a dress that day. I just wanted to get an idea of what I liked. That day, I fell in love with the dress of my dreams. The minute I put it on, the tears came. I knew this was the one. When I walked out with my consultant to show my mother, we were all in tears. I called my fiancé and said "I found it!" Apparently, I had made him watch Say Yes to the Dress too many times because his response was, " Did you cry?" I also chose a beautiful strapless Indigo Blue Hayley Paige Occasions gown for all of my bridesmaids.

It was imperative to Richard and I that our wedding be unique. Our venue was an old gentlemen's ranch with the most beautiful Spanish architectural features constructed in Carmel Stone, overlooking a vineyard and the mountains near the Big Sur coastline. We were married by Richard's best friend's father, standing in front of a custom wooden cathedral arch before one hundred and fifty of our favorite people at dusk on a beautiful and brisk December day.

Our day was a black tie event and our guests wore beautiful gowns and furs and the men wore fabulous tuxedos.
